The steelmakers in India, such as ArcelorMittal, Tata Steel, and Posco, decided to scale back the scope of new of steel projects in India.
Now ArcelorMittal needs 4,000 acres of land for its new steel plant. Before global financial crisis, the company asked for 10,000 acres.
Three companies originally planned to build a 6~12 million tons project, but they held the plan because the local government could not offer sufficient lands for them.
